System Restore

I have recently had to run and set restore points and run system restore
about 14 times over a 3 day period. Upon checking my hard drive I have
suddenly noticed a significant reduction in free space. Has the System
Restore taken up this space and if so will the space be cleared automatically
or will I have to do something?
 
Charlie, when in Windows Explorer rt click your drive icon>select
Properties>Disk Cleanup>More Options>System Restore>Cleanup. Say Yes to all.

Most likely it has, and no it won't.

Open System Restore, click on System Restore Settings, and reduce the
space used.

Repost with the list of everything showing (right panel)
in / Control Panel / Administration / Services
WinXP uses scores of these software routines, and
you can turn most if not all on/off individually.
Do you see "Restore" here ?
