Hi,
My System Restore is desactivaded at any restart of mf my pc.

What can i do in order to fix this problem?

I appreciate very much your help.

Reinaldo

Deactivated how ? - Options box shows it disabled or it isn't running ?

System Restore is a Windows XP Service that should be started and
have it's start mode at Automatic. You can check the service by:
Click Start, Run (Type) Services.Msc [Enter]
-Expand/Maximize the console view, toggle the bottom Tab to Standard
View and scroll though the list and locate System Restore and check
Status and startup mode.

I would reset the Disk allocation level from 12% down to something
more reasonable like 2-3%. System Restore is a short-term recovery.
Also if your PC has multiple partitions/drives turn SR off on non XP
partitions.

Based on your limited information, it's hard to give you more specific
steps or diagnostic procedures to use. Data like available free space
and Malware status ( Is the PC clean) helps to run down the cause.

Well, in the near past I had not this trouble.
The deactivation means this:

I receive this message (without any action from me) after the restart:

"The System Restore is non activated" Would you wish to activate it now?

I configured the Sytem Restore un- checking the box DESACTIVAR RESTAURAR
SISTEMA and the % is configured to 5%.

My system has only one partition with Xp professional only.

I have Norton Antivirus 2006 with the Spyware and Adware options "on" and
its status is OK (no viruses, no spayware, no adware)

OK, Appreciate the additional information. The message you describe is a
new one for me. I don't use SR, as I depend on Imaging for recovery. It
almost seems to me like this is a Symantec/Norton type hook and not the
XP native SR because of the wording of the messages. Doubtful, I can
give you more help perhaps someone with more first-hand experience can
help.

Thanks

Hi,

Hi,

There are several reasons this may occur. Let's take a look at Event
Viewer for any System Restore logs that may have been created recently
that may help us diagnosing the problem.

Go to Start - Run and type eventvwr.msc and press enter.
Click on System in the left pane.
Click the gray title "Source" at the top of the source name column in
the right pane to sort by source name, look for "sr" and "srservice".
Double click on each of these events, then click on the button below the
two arrows in the upper right corner. This will copy the event
information to the clipboard. Paste the information for each of the two
event here. There's no need to post duplicate Event ID's.

How do I use the Event Viewer to search for System Restore logs?

OK, Appreciate the additional information. The message you describe
is a new one for me. I don't use SR, as I depend on Imaging for
recovery. It almost seems to me like this is a Symantec/Norton type
hook and not the XP native SR because of the wording of the
messages. Doubtful, I can give you more help perhaps someone with
more first-hand experience can help.

Well, in the near past I had not this trouble.
The deactivation means this:

I receive this message (without any action from me) after the
restart:

"The System Restore is non activated" Would you wish to activate it
now?

I configured the Sytem Restore un- checking the box DESACTIVAR
RESTAURAR SISTEMA and the % is configured to 5%.

My system has only one partition with Xp professional only.

I have Norton Antivirus 2006 with the Spyware and Adware options
"on" and its status is OK (no viruses, no spayware, no adware)

:

Deactivated how ? - Options box shows it disabled or it isn't
running ?

System Restore is a Windows XP Service that should be started and
have it's start mode at Automatic. You can check the service by:
Click Start, Run (Type) Services.Msc [Enter]
-Expand/Maximize the console view, toggle the bottom Tab to
Standard View and scroll though the list and locate System
Restore and check Status and startup mode.

I would reset the Disk allocation level from 12% down to something
more reasonable like 2-3%. System Restore is a short-term recovery.
Also if your PC has multiple partitions/drives turn SR off on non
XP partitions.

Based on your limited information, it's hard to give you more
specific steps or diagnostic procedures to use. Data like
available free space and Malware status ( Is the PC clean) helps
to run down the cause.

Hi,
My System Restore is desactivaded at any restart of mf my pc.

What can i do in order to fix this problem?

I appreciate very much your help.

Hi,
