System Restore

Using XP-Home edition

Wanted to 'test' the system restore function and have found that my PC will
not restore from system generated restore points. For example system
checkpoints and software system distributions.

I can however restore from my own manually created points. Can someone
assist in pointing why this is and any possible solutions to correct.

Hi JHL,

If you are not in need of restoring the system do to a problem, I would
suggest deleting all the restore points by disabling System Restore.
Enabling SR will automatically create a new restore point. This will
remove the possibility of a corrupt restore point. Then test SR
periodically to assure it continues to function correctly.
