Hi! Somehow I have loss the ability to use system
restore. Can I re-install this program from the xp cd or
the web site or do I have to re-install the whole
operation system?

You most likely lost the ability to restore because one or more of your
restore points became corrupted. This is often, but not always, the sign of
a current or previous virus infection.

To regain access to System Restore you must erase all restore points. Do
this by turning System Restore off on all drives and then re-starting your
computer. All restore points will be erased. After your computer restarts,
turn System Restore on again.

Ok But just how can I access system restore to turn it
off?It is not in the properities of my pc when I right
click on my pc and go to properties it does not show just
gives me the error messor...missing winstal.dll. So how
to I gain access to erase all data? HOpe you can help.
Also would you use system mechinic or norton's pro as a
third party software for help in the registry and other
things? I am interested in ghost as I used this before
and was thinking of setting it up on my new pc. Thanks
for your time.

Well since I have no idea of what software this might be
at this time I would appreciate your knowledge on how to
fix system restore per your suggestion. As I said I can
not gain access to it the usual way it shows the error
message (THE PROCEDURE ENTRY POINT REMOTE ASSISTANCE
PREPARESYSTEMRESTORE COULD NOT BE LOCATED IN THE DYNAMIC
LINK LIBRARY WINSTA.DLL.
PLEASE HELP!
THANKS
