For some reason my computer is not allowing any restores - it goes through the motions and then says, sorry, couldn't restore - try again... I've also had problems with the language bar - all options are greyed out and options prior to to language bar (warning about asian texts which we require - wife is Japanese) reset themselves to non-asian. I think I've had some sort of bug but AVG hasn't found it.

Is there not some way of restoring XP to its original settings or is my problem merely one of garbled instructions. Help!!!!

Barry;
Perform the first four steps on this link to check for spyware and
viruses:

If after following the above you still have the System Restore issue:
There may be corrupted data in system Restore.
Turn off/on System Restore to delete corrupted files:
Start/All Programs/Accessories/System Tools/System Restore.
Click System Restore Settings on left side.
Check "Turn off System Restore", click OK, follow prompts and reboot.
This deletes ALL Restore Points including corruption.
Then go back and turn on system Restore and create a Restore Point.
