System Restore

When I try to start System Restore in Windows XP Pro i
get following mesg.An exception occurred while trying to
run "shell32.dll" "Control_run.dll" "C:\windows\system32
\sysdm.cpl""System"
Also if I try to run from Acessories-System I get the
mesage that do I want to send the error files to
microsoft as rstrui.exe ver 5.1.2600.1106 is not runnning
correctly.
I have renewed this file from SP1 but still no joy.
Can you re install System Restore in any way without
having to reinstall Windows XP?

I found the answer to my problem in a past FAQ.
Click Start then Run enter c:\windows\inf and look for
SR.Inf. If you cannot find it look in SP1 patch/I386.
Right click on sr.inf and click on install. If you cannot
find certain files it calls for again look in sp1 patch
or system32 files.
It worked for me I now have System Restore up and running.
