What exactly does the System Restore Utility store when
you save at a specific checkpoint?

I am guessing it is just the registry info. Is this
correct?

For example;
If you loaded a program that seemed to be the cause of a problem, and it
had been on your machine for 2 days., by doing a system restore previous to
that date, you would be minus that program but at least you would know
everything else was the same.. As in, i knew the machine was o.k. before i
installed that dumb program.
This feature is possibly one of the most valuable in XP, if used
properly..This is assuming the downloaded program un-install didn't work for
you, i would do that first, then, to be sure, you could punch-up a restore
point.

hi jupiter
good link..this explained also my problem with auto
restore points not created anymore...I've had the task
scheduler disabled.
