system restore

Cannot access system restore. The error message
reads : "The procedure point entry RemoteAssistance
PrepareSystemRestore could not be located in the dynamic
link library WINSTA.dll" I have tried 3 solutions from
FAQs ie 1) My Computer - Properties - System Restore 2)
Control Panel - Admin Tools - Computer Management -
Services & Applications - System Restore and 3) Start -
Run - Net Smart. None of this works. Any ideas?
