system restore

I know this is going to sound weird by when I go to system
tools and click on system restore I get the message.

The procedure entry point remote assistance prepare
system restore could not be located in the dynamic link
library winsta.dll And when I go to system and click
on properties the little box is not there for me to check
for system restore.
I have reloaded windows xp disk with no luck.
Any help would be great.

Try this; right-click on my computer and click propterties - you'll see at the top left "system restore" and see if "Turn off system restore" is ENABLED. Put a check there is there is none.

I have the exact same problem This seemed to have occured
after a windows update.
I am in the process of searching the microsoft knowledge
base you can go to
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-
US;299904
Will let you know if I have any luck

I get the same error with system restore. I tried the

right click on my computer and it immediately gives me
the error message. Any other suggestions.
