One thing at a time:Firstly,is your system now clean and
free of viruses?(scroll down this message, for locations
of free online scanners)
Secondly, did you reenable system restore? When you turn on
system restore again, you need to reboot to apply the
settings-just as the message suggests.

After a restore point has been created-(when the O.S. is
in a good state of running),only then can you "roll back"
to that date. When you turn off system restore, you flush
all the restore points-you flush the virus. In the case of
a virus infection, that is a very wise move. The virus can
come back if it is trapped in a restore point/image.

RPC server-I am not sure what you mean. Are you getting
messages on screen? What do they say, exactly?

Turn on the XP firewall,if you have not already done so:

Please run a virus scan at any of the locations below:

Trend:

McAfee:

Panda:

If offered an option to clean or delete, opt for
delete.

IF you cannot stay online long enough to complete the
scan, please download and run Stinger (Best saved to
floppy):
