System Restore

When I try to restore my PC ( I have been having severe problems since I
allowed my son to access his gamewinners forum on my pc) It says cannot be
restored. I have tried from the day he first accessed it, i have tried days
previous to that and days after that date and none will let me restore it.
Am I going to have to do a complete factory restore to my PC?

One or more of the System Restore files could have been corrupted - try
turning SR off/on - but I'm afraid that you will lose any existing
checkpoints:

Right click My Computer, select Properties and then the System Restore tab.
Enable 'Turn off System Restore on all drives' and reboot your PC. After
that 1st reboot go back into SR and disable 'Turn off System Restore on all
drives' and reboot your PC again. After that 2nd reboot you should have one
new SR checkpoint.

It is pretty well impossible to repair a corrupted System Restore
folder. The best you can do is to clean it out and start fresh, as
described by Will Denny. However this will not fix your current
problems, which you did not describe. At least I assume that there
are problems and this is why you want to use system restore.

Spyware infrestations are a common cause of computer problems these
days, and the first thing you need to do is to check for and clean up
anything that may have gotten onto your computer. See MVP Jim
Eshelman's Spyware Quick Fix page at
http://www.aumha.org/a/quickfix.htm and follow the steps there to
clean up your machine.

Another approach, perhaps a bit riskier because it is Beta software,
is to download and install the public beta release of Microsoft's
antispyware software from
http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/software/default.mspx
Many people who have tried it appear to have had good results.
