I am still having System Restore problems. I have done all that I can find
or read to do. Each time I try to do a System Restore (previous day before)
it runs through everything as if it is restoring, but after the computer
restarts, I get a message "Your Computer Cannot Be Restored to (Date..XXX..)
System Checkpoint".
Is there a secret getting this to work?
Thank you for any help.

Hi

Have you tried turning SR off/on as one or more of the SR files may have
become corrupt. You will, however, lose all existing checkpoints:

Right click My Computer, select Properties and then the System Restore tab.
Enable 'Turn off System Restore on all drives' and reboot your PC. After
that 1st reboot go back into SR and disable 'Turn off System Restore on all
drives' and reboot your PC again. After that 2nd reboot you should have one
new SR checkpoint.

Like Bob Hunt I cannot achieve system restore. I need to do it because I get
a 'Recovered from serious error' message everytime that I boot up. This began
3 weeks ago so I tried to system restore to an earlier date but it does not
work. Any ideas?
It seems to me that the Will Denny solution will not be beneficial because
it does not go to an earlier date.

Hi

If System Restore has one or corrupt files, then no checkpoints may work.
Only way round it is to turn SR off then back on again. Admittedly all
existing checkpoints will lost, but SR should work again after that.

Thanks for trying to help Will, but I have done as you said
several times, and the same message that it cannot restore
comes up.
