I have read alot of threads on system restore, checking if it is turned on, verifying the space allowed is sufficient, and so on and so forth. My question is this: I can get into system restore, view the calendar and select a date, and perform the restoration point. Now, after the reboot of the computer, it tells me that no changes were made to your computer, it could not restore the computer to that restore point, please select another restore point. Now, I have done this numerous times with the same results. If anyone can give me guidance I would appreciate it very much.

Hi,

It means the restore points are corrupt. The only thing you can do is stop
and restart the System Restore service. This will dump all existing restore
points, and you should delete the contents of the System_Volume_Information
folder on each drive or volume after stopping the service and before
restarting it. This is a hidden system folder, and you may need to change
your folder in order to see it.

To stop it, start/run services.msc, locate the service in the list and
double-click it. Use the "Stop" button. Then delete the contents of the
aforementioned SVI folder. Then restart the service. You can also
stop/restart it from the System Restore tab of System properties, some find
this easier.
