System Restore

okay if you have read my other posts... the TouchPad for my computer is not working. it just doesn't do anything any more. So i attempted to do a System Restore back to Friday since my problems started on Saturday. When i signed back on after the restart a message popped up saying that my system could not be restored back to the date i chose and that no changes were made. so i tried again but to thursday's date. and that didn't work either.

if you know why my system isn't restoring or why my TouchPad isn't working, i'd appreciate it greatly if you could help me out!

My computer brand and model is a Toshiba Satellite A15-S129 and if it means anything i have Windows XP... Thanks for the help!!
