System Restore problems

I used system recovery because I was having major
problems, but now when I click on My Documents or use
Favorites, I get an "access denied" message. Also, when
I use Help, I get a error about "failed to load
vendorprefs."

Not sure about problem #2, but for #1, try taking ownership, see:

A search of Google brought back no hits for "vendorprefs." Was this the
exact term used?
What applicatons do you have installed?
