System restore problems.

For the period that i've had my pc I never actually known about restore
points, or anything like that. Until I had a problem.. I tried restoring it
only to find out I hadn't created nor had any restore points. Is there any
way of putting my pc back to its original state without the restore points,
because I've tried and I still can't figure it out.. and the problem I have
basically screws up everything and basically nothing works now.
 
Hi Maggs,

Sorry to hear of your problems the only way that I have dealt with this
issue is to do a complete reinstall of windows, before you commence a
re-install I would advise that you back up any important data as this will be
lost. I have now got into the habit of making regular restore points when
trying out new software etc.

Without the restore point or without some "Ghost" copy ofthe whole system,
then no, there's no for sure way of going back to some much earlier state
... unless you want to wipe the drive and reinstall Windows!

Think about it.

But why don't you post what the problem actually is and perhaps somebody
here can offer a workable solution? You haven't said what the actual problem
is.
 
Just wondering how would I go about reinstalling windows again? I have the
disk, do I just put it in and... do what ever it says?
 
Eh I'm not sure exactly what the problem is.. I clicked a link once someone
sent me then after that nothing really worked, basically prblems with my
net.. Nothing net related work... (I'm on another pc) My notron virus and
internet protection didnt work, since I figured I got a virus. I tried using
that.. didnt work.. tried reinstalling and installing a new version, No use..
I pretty sure what ever is wrong had to do with me clicking that link. But
i'm pretty much up for reinstalling windows.
