running XP Home - when I try to do a system restore, my machine goes through the process, shuts down, restarts, then tells me that it could not restore- to pick another restore point. This process just continues, ever though I have allowed plenty of disk space for the information. Would sure appreciate any help to solve this problem.

There may be corrupted data in system Restore.
Turn off/on System Restore to delete corrupted files:
Start/All Programs/Accessories/System Tools/System Restore.
Click System Restore Settings on left side.
Check "Turn off System Restore", click OK, follow prompts and reboot.
This deletes ALL Restore Points including corruption.
Then go back and turn on system Restore and create a Restore Point.

There are a couple of reason why this could have happened. First, have you made sure your system restore is turned on? I'm sure it is since you mentioned that you have allowed plenty of disk space, but I had to ask.
Also, if your pc's hard disk is full, or nearly full it will stop creating restore points.
The exact error message will help determine the cause, but here is one article that might be of some help.
