system restore problem - still not working

I followed the directions with no luck. I tried turning off the auyomatic
re-boot and got a message saying: command failed because winsrv application.
Re-install application.

Will this be on my XP disc, and do you think it will fix the issue??

Open a Command Prompt window (Start - Run - CMD) and enter the
following command:

SFC /SCANNOW

You may be prompted to insert your Windows XP installation CD.
