system restore problem and a slow computer

Hello im looking for some help please my computer in the last couple of weeks
is slowing down when i go onto ebay close down ebay i get a pop up come up
saying if your computer is slow hit here obviously i havent but firstly i
want to get rid of this pop up.knowing very little about computers i thought
if i went to system restore i could go back in time and so erase the pop up
but this is my secound problem my system restore will only let me go back to
the last restore point any other points i try after going through everyting
the computer restarts after i hit my user name it says unable to restore to
this point please try anouther date but the only date that works is 2 days
previous,if any one can talk me through the pop up and how to ditch it also
my system restore i would be most grateful thank you
