System Restore Poinats Disappear

In system restore, I can't select the go back to the previous month
(September) and restore points other than today in October are missing. I
did not have this problem last month when I had multiple restore points.

Join the club, mine disappeared early last week, I manually created one and
they are now being created automatically each day.
Then they all disappeared again on Sep. 30th.
I'm using Windows Defender and suspect that Defender is the cause of this
problem.

Below is a post by Lawrence Gardener in response to a post I made a while
back, I never tried it but it may work.

You can turn off the automatic Windows Defender Checkpoints by:

1. Open Regedit
2. Locate key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows Defender\Scan
3. Right click on Scan key, select Permissions, and ensure Administrators
Group access has Full Control
4. Add Value DisableRestorePoint in right panel for the Scan key, REG_DWORD
set to 1
5. Right click on Scan key again, select Permissions, and ensure
Administrators Group does not have Full Control checked
6. Close Regedit

Now, WD will not save Checkpoints, but the rest of the system still will.

Hello again.

I've been using a program called CC Cleaner and I just found that this
program deletes my restore points. If this doesn't take care of it I'll try
the windows defender solution. Thanks again.
