System restore not working.

When I try to restore a selected restore point nothing happens. I do not
get any error messages.
I have tried disabling system restore and enabling it after a reboot.
System restore has a red dot next to it on the system tools menu. The only
system protection I am using is Windows one care.
Running XP Pro & IE7 on a stand alone computer.

Thanks to anyone that can help me get it working.
 
Hi

Try reinstalling SR. In Windows Explorer go to the windows\inf folder. In
the right hand pane find the sr.inf file, right click on it and select
Install.
