After reinstalling WinXP Pro (by repair, because of problem encountered in
installing SP1), I cannot use the System Restore. Error is "rstrui.exe -
Entry point not found. The procedure entry pt
RemoteAssistancePrepareSystemRestore could not be located in the dynamic
link library Winsta.dll" Could someone please advise me how to solve this
problem? Thanks.

Hi!
Download XP Service pack 1 it will correct it.

1. Insert the Windows XP CD
2. Click [Start] [Run]
3. Type the following command and press Enter
"rundll32.exe advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection C:\Windows\Inf\sr.inf"

System Restore core files should be reinstalled.

Alternately, you may also open Windows Explorer, navigate to
"C:\Windows\Inf" folder and right-click sr.inf (choose Install)

Hi,

Actually, for the most part, this really has to do with NVidia video adapter
drivers to start with, especially if received when right clicking My
Computer/Properties.

Suggested workarounds:

Go to Start/Run and type in: sysdm.cpl. Then go to the System Restore Tab
and check Turn off System Restore for all drives, reboot, reset it back then
reboot again. Once done.....

Then go to Start/Run/inf. Scroll down to sr.inf, right click, install.

If still no go:

Restore System Restore Service (Line 289)

You're welcome and thank you for the feedback.
