While trying to configure a Wireless card on an HP Pavilion notebook with
Windows XP Home Ed., the card manufactures' rep. had me do a system restore
in a last ditch effort to see if an Windows updates might have caused a
conflict. Basically, the restore failed to start up and the rep. said he
could no longer help.
After the XP startup page stops, I get a black screen with only a mouse that
will move.
I have tried the Normal boot, "Last known good", and all Safe Modes (Does
display safe mode in each corner in addition to the mouse, but nothing else),
with no luck.
Help, How do I recover from this laptop from becoming a door stop?
