When I try to do a restore back to a saved date the
message comes up after reboot that the system was not
restored. Anyone have any insight as to what might be
going on?> Thanks. Chuck

Hi - I have the same problem - I have two computers both
running Windows XP Home edition, and it is the same on
both of them. It started about a month ago I guess.

Did you ever get a response to this problem? I contacted
my support, and the only "help" they gave was to reboot
after changing the msconfig settings, which I tried, but
it made no difference.

email is Andycambs@ hotmail.com

Hi, I had the same problem see if this will work, right click on my computor icon, open properties, click on system restore tab and check the box to turn off restore, reboot your computor and then do the same thing and uncheck the box, reboot and it should work, i did it today and that fixed it. hope this works for you.

Hi

One or more of the System Restore files could have been corrupted - try
turning SR off/on - but you will lose any existing checkpoints:

Right click My Computer, select Properties and then the System Restore tab.
Enable 'Turn off System Restore on all drives' and reboot your PC. After
that 1st reboot go back into SR and disable 'Turn off System Restore on all
drives' and reboot your PC again. After that 2nd reboot you should have one
new SR checkpoint.
