Wondering if anyone has had this problem or can direct me to a solution.
For awhile now, system resore will not work. Running windows XP media center
on a 3 month old Toshiba notebook P15-479. If I try to resore to a previous
restore point, it goes through the motions, reboots, and gives the message"
System cannot be restored to a previous time. Try picking a another restore
point". May be not the exact words, but close.
Even if I manually set a resore point, it will not restore.
Obviusly the solution would be to use the XP disk and pick the repair
utility. Toshiba's copy of XP will not allow this. If I run the backup XP
disk it will only reformat the drive and then reinstall the software. Spoke
to Toshiba and they say there is not alternative. I'd rather not.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Mario
