After trying to restore an XP computer to an earlier date I get the message:
"Your computer cannot be restored to (whatever date)". I've tried many
different dates and have the same problem. System restore is running and I
have many restore points....any ideas?

I`m having the same problem and my computer is so slow after installing sp2 I
want to return it to how it was before. I hope someone out there can help
please.

There may be corrupted data in system Restore.
Turn off/on System Restore to delete corrupted files:
Start/All Programs/Accessories/System Tools/System Restore.
Click System Restore Settings on left side.
Check "Turn off System Restore", click OK, follow prompts and reboot.
This deletes ALL Restore Points including corruption.
Then go back and turn on system Restore and create a Restore Point.

SR, I have the same problem. I do not, nor have not installed SP2, so I
know that's not the problem. I have posted twice here on the problem, as
yet got an answer that will point me in the right direction to make it work.
Everything is turned on, and I have gone through the Off/On thingy twice.
Still doesn't work. I suppose that's just one of the problems of the beast.

I am sorry for all the replies, but each time I posted, I got an error
message saying it did not go through, try again later. all at once there they
all are!! Sorry.
