My System Restore no longer produces automatic system checkpoints. The last one was on 1-1-04. It used to do it several times a week or more. I have lots of disc space and allocation for SR is maxed. It seems to work normal when installing or removing a game of driver. Does Windows update v4 have anything to do with this. That was performed 1-13-04 and produced a checkpoint

Please Help...thank you

System Restore works through a hardwired scheduled task so if you disabled
the Task Scheduler service recently this would have stopped the auto restore
point creation every 24 hours. Also these are taken only during system idle
time so that if you just turn on your machine, work and then turn it off and
so have no idle time they will not be made. Hope this may be of use.

You hit that one on the head!! A while back I put some services on Manual as per an article in a gaming magazine dealing with tweaking your machine to get a little more gaming performance. It feels good to know what caused it. I'm going to leave it set as it is, but I'll do a weekly restore point myself just to have somewhere to go in case of a problem

Thanks again :-)
