I occasionally experience an unexpected reboot when i
start burning a CD (Ricoh MP7163A).

Once XP Pro has started up again, I get the following
error message:

System has recovered from a serious error:
---------------------------------------------------
Error signature:
BCCode: d1 BCP1 : 634ACCE0 BCP2 : 00000002
BCP3 : 00000000 BCP4 : F8868E6F OSVer: 5_1_2600
SP: 1_0 Product: 256_1
---------------------------------------------------
as i said, this only happens occasionally, and it is very
irritating, as the cd is killed in the process.

any help on this would be greatly appreciated

thanx

What you may be experiencing is XP attempt to hide the dreaded BSOD. If
XP detects an error that would normally generate a BSOD, it will
reboot. You can turn this feature off:
Right click My Computer, choose properties, Advanced tab, <Setting>
button under the Startup and Recovery section, uncheck automatically
restart.

The next time you go to burn a disc and if the computer returns an
error, instead of rebooting it should show you a BSOD.
