My system reboots directly befor it normaly switches to
VGA-mode during boot-process.

No error-message appears.

I disabled several services and drivers from the Recovery
Console - no effect.

My problem is, that no ntbtlog.txt-file is written even if
I chose this option during boot-process with F8.

I tried the last 3 BIOS-upgrades - no effect

System: Win2k Sp3 (German)
Hardware: Leadtec NForce 2 Ultra (Driver from Summer
without IDE-Miniport), Gfroce 4200 8x (Driver from Summer)

Any idea?

Switching to VGA mode, wish you could be a bit more specific. At first I
thought you meant the VGA mode option available for winnt. however 2000
doesn't have that option anymore, the equivalent option would be hitting F8
to boot to safe mode. If this is what you mean it means the system is
rebooting before even teh boot loader can load the OS which would mean the
problem is Hardware/Bios Related. Usually a good purge of the Bios and
setting it back to default will help

Follow the steps under the section titled "Restore a Backup of the System
Hive" in Knowledge Base article 269075 Error Message: Windows Could Not
Start Because the Following File Is
(http://support.microsoft.com/?id=269075). If this does not repair the
problem, boot to the Recovery Console again and reverse the changes.

If this does not resolve the problem, post back and let us know.

.... no change in system-behavior after rplacing system32
\config\system

.... sorry: I mean the moment, when the black/white
textmode-progress-bar is completed and windows normaly
switches to a Windows-Logo-screen the first time.

I think I did all I could do with the Bios-Settings,
default-settings included.
