I just bought a new computer today and it would reboot
whenever I tried to go online. I put on the xp patch and
ran the blasterworm virus fix. The fix from symantec said
that no viruses were found. So why would I get the rpc
notice if there is no virus. Also how could there be a
virus on a brand new machine? I'm wondering if I should
exchange this computer for another one.
Thanks for any help...

If you are really really sure that the machine is clean, then yes, take
it back. It could be a bad network card (NIC) or modem (you didn't say
how you were getting on line). Without really knowing more details
about your Internet connection, I can't guess. Certainly it would be
smart to have the place where you bought it address this.
