System Properties and blank name

Hi there, this is a new computer that came with XP already installed. However, when I bring up System Properties, the area that states registered to is blank. I followed someone's suggestion regarding opening start and run and typing in regedit, then changing name under registered owner. i did that but it is still blank.
The first line states default and is blank. I tried typing my name there too, but still blank.
Any other ideas? Xp is registered and activated. Thanks

Ok there is already something written in computer name, it is letters and numbers. If I go to change it, it gives me a warning that this could affect other settings.
I am talking about the space that says registered to under the general tab in system properties. It is blank where a name should be and then the system code is there.
 
hmmm not sure if my first reply went through. There is something written in computer name and if I go to change it, I get a warning.
I am talking about the spot under registered to under the general tab in system properties. The registered to area shows no name, just the code.

In the right pane, double click RegisteredOwner and change the Value data.
