"System" process running at 98%

Desktop PC "System" process starts normally, but increases
CPU usage throughout the day. Useage varies from 50% - 98%
for the second half of the day. PC runs slow, and when
rebooted, cycle starts over again.

The link provided tells you how to narrow down the culprit driver or
program. Then you have to rewrite your code to fix the leak. If it's
someone else's product, you discontinue using that product (and *try* to
null the sale or contract for not just a defective product but also for
a destructive product and get your money back).
