Hi,
My laptop suddenly starts flashing and seems to lose its display.None of the
keyboard / mouse actions work. All I can do is to restart to come back. I
thought that it is only when I'm browsing on the net. But, some times, when
I'm just on my desktop, the same happens - it flashes so continuously that it
is irritating. Some times it halts after flashing for some time, but most
times, I end up restarting my laptop.
Can any one please tell me the reason and the fix.
Thanking in advance,
Vinayak.

I don't know for sure in your case, but this is common symptom of a
laptop overheating. Try running it on AC with the battery removed. If
that fixes it, that battery might be shot. If it doesn't, the laptop
probably needs to be cleaned. As dust in some laptops causes them to
overheat. There are many other reasons, but these two are the most
common.

or if it not over heating and needing cleaning, then maybe you should check for updated drivers for the video.
