Hi,

I am using P4 1.4GHZ machine which runs on Intel 850GB motherboard.
Currently the XP freezes suddently while I am working. I am not able to get
control when using CTRL+ALT+Del. I need to restart the machine to work.

I changed the Power supply, Keyboard and mouse. But I am unable to get the
solution for this problem. Could anyone help me to sort this problem.

Thank You

Chand

1. Check CPU overheating.
2. Test/replace RAM. Try memory testing tool from Microsoft.

http://oca.microsoft.com/en/windiag.asp

If your system seems to be particularly slow before "freezing", disable all
background software.

1. Click Start and select Run.
2. Type MSConfig and press Enter.
3. Click the Startup tab.
4. Click Disable All
5. Click OK.
6. Restart the system.

If you are getting a message "System Configuration Utility you are using the
selective startup for troubleshooting your system", I suggest you check the
check box in that window and click OK. This occurs if you are using the
Selective startup option and not using the normal startup to reduce the
number of startup programs.

Let us know if this helps.
