system file missing

How can I obtain a copy of the 'system' file. This file
was supposed to be in the C:\Windows|Repair directory but
it is not there.

If restoring a file is what you need,open cmd prompt,
type:Sfc /Scannow
When the graph starts install xp cd,exit the info page.
When its thru,remove cd,type:EXIT Restart computer
