I have been getting these Remote Procedure Call failures
that shuts down my computer, does anyone know how to fix
this?
I went to Windows Update, but the installation failed
multiple times (I ended up "losing" a few GB due to
that), and it caused system slow down. So I System
Restored it to a day before. Now, there are more
problems due to it. 1. cannot open regedit (it
automatically closes), 2. cannot open the system window
(alt+ctrl+del window, also automatically closes itself),
3. Cannot turn the firewall on. 4. Cant use Windowns
Update. And god knows what else.
The fix for the firewall from a MS rep posting on the
Networking group, and the fix for Windows Update on the
MS site, both requires editing the registry. And I
cannot open regedit. You see my problem..
The problem with the firewall (and I can only assume the
same for all my other problems) is due to a service pack
1.. which I think was part of the update I ran (that
failed).
