System Failure

My computer gives the illusion that it shut down. The monitor turns off, the
lights on the keyboard turn off, and the lights on the computer turn off, yet
the computer is still running. I will be in the middle of doing something and
*click* its gone. Tried running in safe mode and before it starts *click*
its gone. Tried doing system restore, nope it aint happening. Have to hold
down the power button to get it to turn off. Now it doesn't even bother
trying to come on. What is its problem? Tried running virus scan. It
really doen't like it, cuts off at the beginning.

Try boot into BIOS and check for the harddisk.
Can it be identified by the mobo BIOS?

Sounds like PSU may be going bad.

Try another.
 
I found my problem. The motherboard had corroded. I replaced it with a new
motherboard and it works fine.
