System crashes on right click

Using XP/SP2, when I right-click on a file in Windows Explorer the hour
glass comes up and the system freezes, requiring manual restart. It
usually works ok early in a session, but after awhile this hangup will
be the response. As I recall, it's been going on for about two months,
but I haven't been able to identify any program introduced around that
time that could be causing interference. Any ideas what's typically
behind this sort of problem? Thanks.

It sounds like there'a an error in one of the Right-click context handlers.

Right-click is slow or weird behavior caused by context menu handlers

Thanks mucho! I started with roughly the first third of the list
(alphabetically by type to Property Sheets) and was able to narrow it
down within hours to the Copy Hook Handlers, of which I have four.
Still working on finding which one of the four. I haven't checked the
rest of the list, but at least with these four disabled the lockups
have so far disappeared, and I pushed the tests hard. What's
interesting is that all the advice I've seen says that non-MS files
will be the culprit, but these four are all MS.
