I have a annoying problem with my system clock in Windows
XP Professional.
It is running fast, and not just a little fast we are
talking about it finishing aminute in 50 seconds.
I have checked the clock in the BIOS on my computer and
this is running fine.
Does anyone have any clue what the issue could be?
It has always been gaining a few minutes a week but since
two days ago it started running much faster at above
speeds.
I noticed it when i was burning DVD's in Nero 6 but I
have shut down and not loaded nero since then and whilst
it appeared to be ok immediately after restart It has got
worse again over the last day (the pc is usually on)

Hardware wise the motherboard is an ASUS A7N8X-X and it
is supporting an AMD 2800 Barton chip. The motherboard
and processor are only 6 months old.

Suggestions of things to check for?
if anyone needs further info just ask.

Lex.

.
if you downloaded one of those lovely bundled download
things(keep your clock up to date)you may have
spyware.double click on your time and update it from a
windows time server, then go to www.ad-aware.com and
get a free spyware remover, then open it,check for
updates, run it and remove the spyware.(this can also
sometimes be found from control panel---internet options
settings---view objects,now look for a time updater,and r
click it and remove it.ad-aware will also get rid of it if
you run it thru.
