I have xp Pro. with the service pack 2
I have received a warning that the system bios and the vidio bios are
"shadowed". How do i correct this and what is wrong with being shawdowed and
what is it for, ect???

My system is giving me a warning to change setting in safemode. I can get
safemode but then what?

I think I changed my vidio settings for better performance.would this make me
see a warning and then my system restarts with a safe mode suggestion?

Hi

Have a look at Rick's reply. If you are still concerned you can set the
BIOS options back to Default. Have a look in the manual for your
motherboard. It should tell you in there how to access the BIOS.

BIOS shadowing is performed when it is set to on in the bios settings. The
actual shadow is where the ROM program/data is copied into RAM to increase
performance.

ROM is relatively slow memory and every time the computer accesses (the data
from the ROM it has to pause to gain the information. RAM is system speed
memory and is much faster. Having the program/data in RAM increases the
speed that the data is available to the processor and reduces the access
delay.

For improved system performance leave the bios shadowed. Why you are
receiving this warning I have no idea.

Okay, in part the warning with the request to change these settings in safe
mode
is:
disable BIOS memery - BIOS catching or shadowed.
ALSO...
Warning: Kernel stacked - replaced - error 0210 stuck key 42

I did the"" startup "F8 key" and changed load setup "default values" to
recover"". as the warning page instructed.. not much changed the warning
error still shuts me down sometimes. I tryed system restore several ways and
will not go back far enouch (a coupe of weeks) and said it couln't restrore.
the only thing that worked somewhat was to change my user profile to a new
one. my profile is the only one the system will let on, as it says i am thre
only one that can fix this as i am the administrator.
