My new PC was running fine until, just this morning, an
Explorer-like folder opens at the very end of the Startup
sequence, displaying the contents of the "System 32"
directory.

How do I get rid of it? I have nothing in the Startup
Folder. And it wasn't doing this yesterday.

Thanks.

Visit http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm and scroll down
to Item No. 260. In the right column, click on "System32 Folder Opens
Upon Boot". Download this repair file and then run the repair.

Thank you very much for the quick response! I've done as
you've written and it works!

Could you explain what I could have done to cause this, so
I can watch for it in the future?

Thanks again!

.
msconfig startup i guarantee you have an entry pointing
c windows system32

anyway it will be in either hkcu or hklm

software microsoft windows current version run

in the registry ,start run regedit

look for the data entry pointing to c windows system32
and delete or change it to a blank entry
