Every time I restart my computer, the System 32 folder is
open. I have not had this folder open anytime lately. I
have checked in Folder Options>View and the Restore
previous folder windows at logon is NOT checked. As far
as I can tell, I have no problems, but this is annoying.
I was just wondering if there might be a reason for this
folder opening - is Windows XP trying to tell me
something is wrong? :-)

Any comments/advice will be appreciated very much. TIA.

Click on "S" and scroll down to the SYSTEM32 items

I guess this is going to sound really silly but no I don't honestly know why
it's starting but I do have something you might want to check.

Open your start menu, any way will work, click on programs, preferably ALL
programs. =)

Check in the folder called "Startup" and see if somehow a shortcut was
dragged over into there.

Hi Ruth,

Go to Start/Run/msconfig/Startup.

If this is the case go to Start/Run/Regedit:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

Look here for the program/folder in question. If listed, double click the
entry and put the full path name in quotes. And Verify that all the values
in these keys do not contain any incorrect, incomplete, or null entries
(such as "").
