System 32 error, computer get to desktop

Everytime I turn on my computer a black screen comes up saying that "windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt: \WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM" then it says i can attempt to repair it using the installation cd for windows. i'm not sure exactly what to do, somebody please help.
