Hey
After reinstall I started to have strange problems. I have XP with SP2, I am
using Norton antivirus and I am updating it pretty often. I also checked my
system for spyware and adware. There is no virus and no spyware. My system is
working all the time I don't turn it off but after the night I power up my
monitor and system is so slow... I run taskmanager and saw that SYSTEM
process is working 100%. I resterted it but it happens more and more often.
It never happend when I was sitting with it, but often when screensaver
works. I press anykey and my system is getting so slow after turning off the
screensaver. What can I do ? Is there something about my powersave ?

Is System under the heading Image or User Name?

Are you looking at the process tab in Task Manager?

What is the Commit Charge?

It is unusual for a user to complain about System ( Image column ).

Are there any Error Reports in the system tab in Event Viewer?

Make an exact note of the precise text of any error message. Minor
discrepancies can
make it harder to search for information about the error message.

You can access Event Viewer by selecting Start, Administrative Tools,
Event Viewer.
When researching the meaning of the error, information regarding Event
ID, Source
and Description are important.

HOW TO: View and Manage Event Logs in Event Viewer in Windows XP

A tip for posting copies of Error Reports! Run Event Viewer and double
click on the
error you want to copy. In the window, which appears is a button
resembling two
pages. Double click the button and close Event Viewer. Now start your
message
(email) and do a paste into the body of the message. This will paste the
info from the
Event Viewer Error Report complete with links into the message. Make
sure this is
the first paste after exiting from Event Viewer.

Yes, that is SYSTEM process run by system. It's really it 99% all the time
after I left it alone again. And no error events or even warrning was there.
I don't know what it can be... I turn off screensaver and all powersaving
machinery. So if at morning my computer will be able to work for me it would
be ok ;)

You are certain we are not talking about System Idle?

Have you been able to look in Event Viewer yet?

You are certain we are not talking about System Idle?I know what's the difference between System Idle and System process. And I
will tell you something more, when my system process is using 100% CPU, my
taskbar says on the bottom that CPU - 100% , and in the CPU usage system has
99% , so I pretty sure that it's not idle ;) Beacuse my system then is
extremly slow. I know it's strange that's why I am asking on group what's
going on...
Have you been able to look in Event Viewer yet?
Yeah I checked everything sorting events by date in all 3 categories.
Everything seems to be ok.
