Hello,

I wanna go to use sysprep, what is the command i need in combination
with sysprep that is removing all the drivers on my master installation.
The master installation (=windows xp, office 2000, all updates + SP1) i
use, everytime there is an update, i install it on the master
installation and then take a new image. The meaning is to install my
image on other computers with other hardware. I tested it but there went
something wrong. Can anyone help me for tuning windowsxp with sysprep?

Tnx,
Scokeman

You are aware, aren't you, that unless you have a volume license
version of XP, that is, one that doesn't require activation, you won't
be able to install the same copy of XP on different computers? If you
do have a volume license version (one that doesn't require activation)
here's what you do:

1) Prepare the computer like you want it and create a directory called
"SYSPREP".
2) On the XP CD is support\tools\deploy.cab Copy the files in
deploy.cab to the sysprep folder you made in step 1
3) run setupmgr.exe (from the computer not the cd) and go through the
wizard setting things up like you want them.
4) run sysprep.exe
5) Make sure MiniSetup and NoSIDGen are checked and shutdown is
selected.
6) Click "reseal" The computer should shut down.
7) Boot from the ghost boot disk and create your ghost image.

If the hardware of the other computers is much different from your
original computer you will probably have to boot them from the XP CD
and do a repair before they will start up. If that happens you will
have to do all you updates again.

Tnx again guys,

Tnx again guys,

Maybe another solution?? With ghost explorer i have the possability to
modify my ghost image. Maybe i can delete the drivers that windows made
by the installation, after that i can recompile my ghost image?
Or is it all bulsh*t what i'm telling here??(i don't know another
expression in english ;-)

Tnx again guys,

Don't use the repair console. Insert the XP CD and tell it to install
windows. It will find the windows installation you already have and
ask if you want to overwrite the install or do a repair. Press "R" for
repair. It will look like it's re-installing but all your programs and
settings will be kept. And your English is just fine (a lot better
than my Dutch :-] )

No, the problem isn't with the drivers, it's with XP itself. If the
hardware is too different then when you start the computer up for the
first time it will go into an endless loop before it loads windows. If
that happens shut it off, boot from the CD and do a repair. There's no
gurantees this will work :-( I've done it many time successfully but
every once in a while it just doesn't like the new computer and won't
work. In that case you will just have to redo everything manually.
