sysprep creates default user.windows directory

Hello,

When we use sysprep here at work to prepare images for
ghosting, it creates a few directories that aren't
created on regular XP Pro installations, specifically;
default user.windows, and all users.windows (in addition
to the normal default user and all users directories).
Why are these created, and is there a way to prevent them
from being created? If we delete them after sysprep mini-
setup runs, if you try to log in a new user, Windows says
default user can't be found.

Thanks,

Chris

Chris, these are normal, all users is for, i think,
the 'shared folders' bit of xp, and default is like a
template user that all subsequent users are created from,
deleting either causes the problem you have. darren

I understand what both default user and all users
accounts do. I was wondering why, when using sysprep,
there are the additional default user.windows and all
users.windows directories, IN ADDITION to the normal
default user and all user directories. So..anyone know if
these are just an unavoidable part of syspreping a
machine, or is something weird with my answer file or
something? Note- the machines are not joined to the
domain with the answerfile, just to a workgroup

Thx,
Chris
