Sysfader hangs ControlPanel/System

When accessing System via Control Panel, System does not
run and will not end. Windows Task Manager is accessed
via Ctl-Shift-Delete; SYSFADER is running but not
responding. A forced END TASK will end the program and
free up the system. Also, on the desktop a partially
transparent dialogue box is visible and cannot be deleted
until SYSFADER is stopped. This dialogue box is the
explanation stating what ControlPanel/System does.

I cannot find SYSFADER on my computer. A Google search
has a lot dialogue on SYSFADER with many theories, but
nothing concrete. Some say it is a worm, virus, trojan,
valid MS program, MS program to fad the display? Thank you

Your first step is to run a scan in Safe Mode with a current (not
earlier than 2003 version) antivirus using updated definitions. This
will answer whether you have a virus. If you don't have an av, you need
to get one immediately. In the meantime, try one of the online virus
scanning sites such as:
