On my Windows XP desktop@724x1068 resolution, my system tray Icons are
displayed as very tiny ones in two(2) rows. All the standard options tried,
but I can never get them out of the two rows. Any ideas out there??

I don't know if you tried the following. Right click on the bar and unlock
it. Now you can resize it by dragging the edge. Also check the appearance
control panel.

My problem is tha I can't unlock the system tray to widen it. All properties
are for the task bar, not the TRAY. Tripling the height of the task bar
results in two Columns of icons. The TRAY won't spread out. HELP!!!

Nope. Tried that. My problem is that I can't seem to unlock the TRAY, not
the Task Bar. Therefore I can't drag it out wider. Tripling the height of
the TASK BAR results in two columns of Icons in the TRAY.... HELP!!

In XP, that is called the Notification Area. As per your issue, it depends
on many things. Here are some checkpoints to consider:

This can happen by opening Accessibility Options, etc. If the icons on the
Quick Launch bar are showing as being larger, it will result in the taskbar
being twice its height and also include the date or similar under the clock.

If this is the case, right click the Desktop/Properties/Appearance/
Advanced. Under the Item drop box choose Caption Buttons and change the
number by one, ok your way out, then rest to 25.

And/or reset your default to the XP Theme. If need be, switch to Classic
first, then back to XP Style.

Other options to consider if the above doesn't help, nor moving the glider
over toward the Start Button to list only three icons in the Quick Launch
bar:

Restore the Taskbar to Default Functionality (Line 164)

Hope all goes well and keep us posted. :o)

start by right click on the icon and check the options for one that stops the program from running when windows starts.

Get a piece of black tape to put on the monitor's screen above the
nuisancesome icon.

Learn how to post a reasonably detailed message.

In the meantime, go check the options in whatever UNNAMED program that
displays the tray icon to see if perchance there be a setting to not
display it.

Click on the icon, see if there is a util/setup tab that will tell it
NOT to load up when windows starts. Sometimes, however they are really
sticky and want to continue advertising their program. Sometimes, you
may even have to totally remove the app to permantently get rid of the
icon in the tray.

If you don't need the program the icon represents to be starting at boot,
remove the program from startup. If you do need the program starting at
boot, check the program for an option to not display the icon in the
systray.
