syncing vista and live contacts

hi,

I have a very simple question: How do you sync Windows Vista Contacts and
Windows Live Contacts (you know: the ones in Live messenger). I have no idea
where to do that, and how. It just seems unbelievable they left this trivial
basic feature out.
any ideas?

Mine all seem to be there, maybe you need windows live messenger installed
so that it can grab them. I am using WLM 8.1 beta..

I see that you are using Vista RTM.

When I install WLM 8.1 beta it crashes on startup. There must be something
that they have fixed in Vista RTM.

Hi, I'm having the same problem, using RTM version of vista and windows live
messenger 8.1 beta and WL mail desktop. Still no idea how to sync contacts
to the windows contacts thing.
Is it even possible??

Found the answer (for anyone with the same problem).
In windows live mail desktop, go to tools>options>advanced and uncheck the
'encrypt contacts' box... sorted.
