I like the subfolder option for organizing my "tasks."
However, when I organize my tasks in the subfolders, these
tasks don't sync with my pocket pc. If I put all of the
tasks in thr main "task" folder, then I can sync all of
the tasks with my pocket pc, but I lose the ability to
organize.

For example, I organize my tasks with a "home" and "work"
subfolder. Then I use categories to futher organize
within each of these areas. Under the "home" tasks, I
categorize by "yard," "personal," and "miscellaneous."
Under the "work" tasks, I categorize
under "administrative," "contracts," and "miscellaneous."
When I call HP, they say that they can only sync the
folder at the "task" level, not any subfolders. Of course
I could put every task in the "task" folder and just
organize by category, but that would sacrifice
organization. It seems that if Outlook offers the
subfolder option to help me organize my tasks, there
should be a way to maintain those subfolders on my Ipaq.
Especially since the Outlook software came with the Ipaq
product.

Can you please offer some clarification here. I want to
be able to have multiple levels of folders, subfolders,
and subsubfolders to maximize my organization. Surely
this should be possible without losing the ability to sync
with my pocket pc.

Outlook and Activesync only work on the default folders, not subfolders that
you create. Try posting in the microsoft.public.pocketpc or
m.p.ppc.activesync groups to inquire about third party software solutions
out there.

That's the purpose of categories. By keeping all your tasks in the main
Tasks folder, but organizing them using categories, your iPAQ will synch and
you'll have the organization you want.
